Yuanlin Park and Longdeng Park are the "twin flood detention ponds" in Changhua County that improve urban resilience. Yuanlin Garden adopts a sunken landscape design. It is a green grassland for citizens to walk and picnic on weekdays. During heavy rains, it is transformed into a large reservoir, effectively relieving the surrounding drainage pressure. Dragon Lantern Park combines public art and modern engineering. In addition to the conspicuous dragon lantern landmark, the underground storage space greatly improves the flood protection level of the city. Through this visit, we witnessed how public spaces take into account ecological aesthetics and disaster prevention functions, allowing the city and water to coexist harmoniously.
